Andrea Maine

          Sergeant Major Retired, Andrea Maine, was born on December 29 to Margarite Freeman and the late Andrew Spell Jr. in Columbia, South Carolina. She enlisted in the Army in 1988. Andrea is the proud mother of two sons, Jamel and Nicholas. She earned an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Sergeant Major served 24 years in the United States Army.  Her 24-year career as an active duty Soldier is decorated with numerous service related awards and accolades. She held duty positions such as Drill Sergeant, First Sergeant, & Operations Sergeant Major, to name a few. Sergeant Major retired honorably from the United States Army on October 1, 2012. She is a two-time breast cancer survivor and is grateful to God for both miracles. Since her second diagnosis of breast cancer, she dedicates herself to sharing God's blessings and to sharing her heartwarming testimony of serving her country while battling breast cancer.

          In January 2014, Andrea released her first book, Second Wind “A Mother’s Strength.” Since the release of her book, she has been blessed to travel from state to state sharing her book, testimony and most of all making others aware of breast cancer. Andrea is the CEO of Second Win: Another Chance at Life Breast Cancer Organization and also the CEO of Maine Event Publishing & Printing, LLC. She is also the founder of the Haiti S.M.I.L.E.S. (Supporting Many Innocent Lives Enabling Stability) Foundation, C.H.A.M.P.S. (Communities Helping All Members Pursue Success) Youth Program and the Co-founder of Changing Faces which is a mentoring group for teenage girls dealing with emotional and mental distress. When she is not working as a High School Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) Instructor she enjoys inspiring and mentoring youth, working with cancer services, doing community service with her Team in the community and spreading love, strength and support to every person she meets.
